Travellers
When travelling abroad, it is recommended that you:
- check that your vaccinations recommended in Luxembourg are up to date
- protect yourself against infectious diseases that are prevalent in your destination.
How to prepare
It is important to gather information and prepare six weeks before departure. Simply make an appointment with your GP or at the Travel Clinic at the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg to find out which vaccinations you need.
Compulsory or recommended vaccinations
The infection rate for certain diseases may vary from one geographical region to another. It also varies depending on the time of year you travel. This is why each country develops its own schedule of compulsory or recommended vaccinations.
This vaccination schedule is reviewed annually based on:
- the recommendations of the World Health Organisation (WHO),
- the characteristics of the country of origin and its environment,
- technical advances,
- and the evolution of epidemics.
